One of the companies we represent; American Collectors Insurance a proud supporter of:

THE ROAD HOME

Introducing The Road Home: Restoring lives, one classic car at a time.

In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, we’d like to tell you about a new program American Collectors is supporting.  We’re combining our passion for cars with our love for military veterans.  American Collectors has helped launch The Road Home, a new not-for-profit organization that aims to match veterans with training and employment opportunities in the automotive restoration industry.

As you probably know, America’s military veterans are at a crossroads:

  • The unemployment rate for veterans is worse than the national average — and for veterans between 18 and 24, the jobless rate is over 30%, according to BusinessWeek.
  • America has 900,000 unemployed veterans, according to the House of Representatives Committee on Veterans’ Affairs.
American Collectors has thousands of customers who are active or retired military personnel, and we see a strong link between the growing car hobby and the skills of veterans.  Veterans’ training and experience can benefit employers in the restoration field:  restoration shops need people with strong mechanical skills and the ability to complete a job as part of a team.

We’re asking our partners to support The Road Home in the ways only they can:
  • Let your collector clients know.  Car lovers have a strong tradition of using their hobby to benefit others.  The Road Home is a great reason for you to get in touch and deepen client relationships.  Many car hobbyists will want to help veterans by getting the word out to their restoration shops and veterans they know.
  • Tell a restoration shop owner in your area. The Road Home website (www.TheRoadhomeUSA.org) has a widget at the bottom of each page that makes it easy to send an email and share on Facebook/Twitter/LinkedIn.  Invite shop owners to consider hiring a veteran – someone with a strong work ethic and relevant skills and experience.  (If you have restoration shop owners among your client base, this is a great reason to get in touch.)
Restoring lives, one classic car at a time. That’s the mission of The Road Home.  A mission American Collectors Insurance is dedicated to help accomplish.  Spread the love for our veterans with The Road Home!
